Chaos as UAE Witnesses Heaviest Rainfall in 75 Years
Flooding Inundates Dubai, Leaving One Dead
Torrential Downpour Batters Middle East
Unprecedented rainfall has wreaked havoc across parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), causing widespread flooding and claiming at least one life in Dubai.
According to reports, this week's downpour is the heaviest witnessed in the country in 75 years, with parts of Dubai submerged under water.
Schools were forced to close as torrential rain lashed the region, leaving commuters stranded and roads impassible. By late Tuesday, over 142mm (5.59 inches) of rain had fallen on Dubai, surpassing its average annual rainfall of 94.7mm (3.73 inches).
Tragically, one person has been killed in the flooding, with emergency services struggling to reach affected areas due to the extreme weather conditions. The storm has also caused power outages and damage to buildings.
The heavy rains extended beyond Dubai, affecting other parts of the Middle East as well. Schools were closed in Kuwait and Sharjah due to the inclement weather.
Meteorologists predict that the heavy rainfall will continue over the next few days, with residents advised to stay indoors and take precautions against flooding.
Emergency services are working tirelessly to respond to the crisis, providing assistance to those affected and clearing debris and floodwaters.
