Everything We Know So Far About the Cast of Betelgeuse 2
The Original Cast is Back
Michael Keaton will reprise his role as the titular bio-exorcist Betelgeuse in the upcoming sequel. Winona Ryder will also return as Lydia Deetz, the teenage girl who originally summoned Betelgeuse. Catherine O'Hara and Geena Davis will also reprise their roles as Lydia's mother and stepmother, respectively.
New Additions to the Cast
Several new cast members have been added to the sequel, including Winona Ryder's Stranger Things co-star David Harbour. Harbour will play a new character named Adam Maitland, a recently deceased father who enlists Betelgeuse's help to protect his family from a group of ghosts.
Other new cast members include:
- Adria Arjona as Barbara Maitland, Adam's wife
- Harry Belafonte as the Judge, a powerful ghost who presides over the Netherworld
- Annie Potts as Otho Fenlock, a ghost who lives in the Deetz house
- Utkarsh Ambudkar, Jamie Demetriou, and Beck Bennett as three ghosts who are friends with Betelgeuse
What to Expect from the Sequel
The plot of the sequel is currently under wraps, but it is expected to follow the original film's premise of Betelgeuse helping a family of mortals to rid their home of ghosts. The film is being directed by Tim Burton, who also directed the original film.
Betelgeuse 2 is scheduled to be released in 2025.
