Heavy rain to cause disruption

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for parts of Herefordshire, with heavy rain forecast to cause some issues from 7am on Thursday 2nd February until 11.59pm on Friday 3rd February.

The warning covers the whole of Herefordshire, including the towns of Hereford, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury.

What to expect

The Met Office says that heavy rain is expected to affect the area, with some places seeing up to 80mm of rain in a short space of time.

This could lead to flooding in some areas, and could also cause disruption to travel and power supplies.

What to do

The Met Office is advising people to be prepared for the heavy rain and to take steps to stay safe.

This includes:

  • Avoiding driving through floodwater
  • Being aware of the risk of flooding in your area
  • Having a plan in place in case of flooding
